A man was reportedly stabbed in the chest and another battered unconscious following a horrifying Christmas Day pub brawl.
Both men sustained serious injuries following the fight which was assumed to have happened just before 1am.
Officers of the law were called to the Old Horns Pub in Queslett Road, Great Barr, Birmingham, following reports of a brawl.
When police arrived they found two men, a 22-year-old who was stabbed in the chest and a 20-year-old, who was knocked out and unconscious.
According to the Birmingham Mail , both men were taken to hospital where their condition is described as stable.
Police launched an investigation after the horrifying Christmas day attack.
Detective Constable Rich Stanley, from Force CID , said: "Two families have had their Christmas day ruined by the attack, but we’re working hard to find out what happened and who is responsible."
The area was cordoned-off while forensic experts conducted their search for evidence.
CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed , witnesses spoken to and house-to-house inquiries conducted.
